Any microscopic flexing or structural compliance within the arm introduces distortions that obscure transient response, dynamic accuracy, and spatial resolution. Optimal rigidity is not merely about minimizing resonance—it is fundamental to preserving the integrity of the vibrational energy generated by the stylus, ensuring that nothing is lost to unwanted mechanical deformation. Our tonearm design eliminates soft alloy castings, instead utilizing a hybrid construction: an outer carbon fiber layer for resonance control, internally reinforced with titanium for exceptional strength and superior energy transfer. Additionally, we offer a titanium headshell option, which surpasses duralumin in both rigidity and resistance to micro-deformation. By further enhancing structural integrity at the critical cartridge interface, the titanium headshell combined with the reinforced tube ensures even greater detail retrieval, dynamic precision, and tonal accuracy—delivering an unmatched foundation for true high-fidelity reproduction.

Both the horizontal and vertical joints of Thuono tonearms incorporate ultra-high-precision ceramic ball bearings, selected for their exceptional smoothness and meticulously verified through manual inspection. These bearings are housed within mechanical components engineered to extremely tight dimensional tolerances, ensuring perfect insertion without slack or undue compression. The headshell of Thuono tonearms is engineered to provide precise adjustability, ensuring optimal cartridge alignment for uncompromised tracking performance. The azimuth can be finely tuned to maintain perfect perpendicularity between the stylus and the record groove, obtaining a perfect channel balance without distortion. Additionally, slight overhang adjustments allow for precise stylus positioning relative to the record’s center, optimizing tracing accuracy and reducing tracking error. The tonearm height (VTA) is also fully adjustable, enabling fine calibration to match different cartridge profiles. Thuono tonearms are meticulously designed to achieve peak performance when paired with Thuono turntables. However, a universal mounting system is available, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of turntable configurations while maintaining the integrity of the tonearm’s performance characteristics.
