Audio Group Denmark introduces the Aavik U-301 Unity Amplifier.
The U-301 brings several key audio stages into one enclosure. It combines a streamer, DAC, preamplifier, and power amplifier.
As a result, users only need to add loudspeakers to create a complete high-end system.
The U-301 builds on the original Aavik U-300. That model introduced Aavik’s first unity amplifier concept. Now, the U-301 takes the idea further through deeper system integration and newer technology.
Audio Group Denmark develops and assembles the U-301 in Aalborg, Denmark.
Many high-end systems use several separate components.
For example, a system may include a streamer, DAC, preamplifier, and power amplifier. Each component then needs its own cables, power supply, and enclosure.
However, every extra connection can affect the signal. It can also add noise and increase system complexity.
The U-301 follows a different approach.
It places all major stages inside one chassis. Therefore, each section can work as part of one complete system.
This design shortens the signal path. It also removes many external connections.

The U-301 acts as the main center of a modern audio system.

The U-301 uses an advanced Class-D power stage.
Aavik based this amplifier section on technology from the I-x88 series. It uses Pascal Class-D amplification with high-speed UMAC modulation.
Class-D technology offers high efficiency. It also produces less heat than many Class-A or Class-AB designs.
However, efficiency alone was not the goal.
Aavik also designed the stage for low switching noise and low output impedance. Therefore, the amplifier can maintain firm control over the loudspeakers.
The U-301 delivers 2 × 300 watts into 8 ohms. It also delivers 2 × 600 watts into 4 ohms.
As a result, it can drive a wide range of high-performance loudspeakers.
The amplifier also offers strong peak-current ability. Therefore, it can respond quickly during demanding musical passages.
The U-301 uses high-speed UMAC modulation within its Class-D amplifier stage.
This system switches at high speed. As a result, it helps lower noise and reduces the need for heavy output filtering.
Less filtering can improve the connection between the amplifier and the loudspeakers.
In addition, low output impedance gives the amplifier greater control over driver movement.

The U-301 uses a power-factor-corrected resonant-mode switching power supply.

The U-301’s supply operates with smooth, sine-like switching behavior. Therefore, it produces less high-frequency noise than a typical square-wave switching design.
The supply also reacts to power demand.
When the music requires more energy, the operating frequency rises. As a result, the amplifier can deliver peak current quickly.
This helps the U-301 remain stable during large dynamic changes.
At the same time, the design maintains high efficiency and a low noise floor.

The U-301 includes four major system sections.
It combines network streaming, digital conversion, preamplification, and power amplification.

In addition, the USB UAC 2 input supports PCM from 44 to 384 kHz at up to 32-bit resolution.
The USB input also supports MQA, DSD64, and DSD128.

These may include computers, streamers, disc transports, televisions, and other digital devices.
The U-301 also supports analog sources.
Its line input accepts a maximum signal of 4.5V RMS.
The input impedance is 10 kohms.
Therefore, users can connect suitable external analog components to the amplifier.
The U-301 also includes one pair of RCA preamplifier outputs.
The maximum output level is 7.5V RMS.
As a result, the preamp output can support compatible external equipment or system expansion.
The U-301 provides 76 volume steps.
Each step changes the level by 1 dB.
This gives the listener clear and repeatable control over playback level.
The stepped system also makes it easier to return to a known setting.

The line stage measures below 0.005% total harmonic distortion at 1 kHz with a 1V input.
The power amplifier measures below 0.0028% distortion at 1 watt, 1 kHz, and 8 ohms.
In addition, intermodulation distortion measures below 0.0008% at 10 watts into 8 ohms.
Transient intermodulation distortion measures below 0.002% under the same conditions.
These figures show Aavik’s focus on a clean and stable signal path.
However, the design does not focus on measurements alone.
The main goal is to preserve detail, timing, tone, and musical expression.
Noise can enter an audio system in several ways.
For example, it can come from the power supply, internal circuits, nearby electronics, or airborne radio-frequency signals.
Therefore, Aavik treats noise control as part of the full product design.
The U-301 uses noise-reduction methods developed within Audio Group Denmark.
These technologies help protect the signal as it moves through the digital, analog, and power stages.
As a result, the amplifier can reveal more detail against a quieter background.
Improved noise control can also help with image focus, depth, and tonal clarity.
The U-301 includes Ansuz Gold Anti-Aerial Resonance Coil technology.
Aavik places this technology in the internal wiring near the loudspeaker terminals.
Cables and cable shields can act like antennas. Therefore, they may collect airborne radio-frequency noise.
Gold AARC technology works against this effect.
One coil absorbs the unwanted RF energy. Then, a counter coil helps cancel it.
The latest Gold AARC design also uses a zirconium resonator. In addition, it includes silver- and gold-plated threads.
As a result, the system aims to lower RF noise and improve signal clarity.
Electrical noise is only one concern.
Mechanical vibration can also affect sensitive audio circuits.
For example, vibration can enter through the equipment rack or supporting surface. Internal components can also create their own resonance.
Therefore, the U-301 includes Ansuz Darkz Feet.
These feet help reduce the transfer of structure-borne vibration into the chassis.
In addition, the U-301 can use optional Ansuz Darkz resonance-control devices.
Darkz use precision ball-bearing structures and very hard materials.
Rather than trapping vibration, they provide a controlled path for energy to leave the enclosure.
As a result, they can lower the mechanical noise floor.

The U-301 combines visual design with mechanical control.
Flemming Erik Rasmussen created the exterior design. Its style connects the U-301 with the Axxess Forté and the Aavik I-x88 series.
