With Majik LP12, you can rediscover familiar records with greater clarity, timing, and musical involvement.
As the most accessible complete entry into the Sondek LP12 range, Majik LP12 combines Linn’s modular turntable design with carefully matched components. It delivers a balanced and engaging performance from the start, while also providing a clear path for future upgrades.
Its Karousel bearing, Majik sub-chassis, Krane tonearm, and internal power supply work together to support stable rotation, accurate tracking, and natural musical flow. You can also choose between the Adikt moving-magnet cartridge and Koil moving-coil cartridge to suit your system.

The Majik LP12 is the future-ready first step into the Sondek LP12 ecosystem.
It combines a carefully selected set of Linn components in one complete turntable. These include the Karousel bearing, Majik Sub-Chassis, Krane tonearm, internal Majik power supply, and Solid Base.
You can also choose between the Adikt moving-magnet cartridge and the Koil moving-coil cartridge. Therefore, the Majik LP12 can suit different systems and phono stages from the start.
Most importantly, its modular design leaves a clear path for future upgrades. The Majik LP12 is not a closed system. Instead, it provides a lasting foundation that can grow with your listening system.
The Majik LP12 Power Supply fits inside the turntable. As a result, it keeps the system clean and simple.
It filters unwanted noise from the mains before supplying power to the motor. This helps reduce motor judder and supports more stable platter speed.
The power supply operates the turntable at 33⅓ rpm. For 45 rpm records, Linn includes a separate adaptor.
Krane is the standard tonearm fitted to the Majik LP12.
Linn constructs it from precision aluminium and stainless-steel components. Its static-balanced design provides a stable platform for the cartridge while maintaining low friction and low rotational mass.
The vertical bearing combines polished tungsten and sapphire. Meanwhile, a dual ceramic horizontal bearing assembly supports smooth and accurate movement.
Krane also provides several setup controls. These include vertical tracking angle and azimuth adjustment. An adjustable headshell supports precise cartridge alignment.
Karousel is Linn’s current single-point bearing for the Sondek LP12.
The bearing forms the critical connection between the platter, spindle, and sub-chassis. Therefore, its stability directly affects platter rotation and record playback.
Karousel uses a stainless-steel housing and a substantial locknut. This creates a stronger and more rigid connection between the bearing and sub-chassis.
Linn also strengthened the thrust-pad housing. Its smaller and stiffer form provides better support for the weight and rotation of the platter.
The result is smoother rotation, greater stability, and less interference from unwanted vibration.
The Majik Sub-Chassis provides a firm internal platform for the turntable.
Linn uses a multi-layer box construction made from 1.5 mm aluminium. This creates a strong and rigid structure for the bearing and tonearm assembly.
The sub-chassis works with a five-layer laminated armboard. Together, these parts create a stable and acoustically damped mounting surface for the tonearm.
This stable relationship between the platter and tonearm helps the cartridge track the record groove more accurately.
Adikt is fitted as standard to the Majik LP12 MM.
Its moving-magnet design produces a strong output signal. Therefore, it works with a compatible moving-magnet phono input or phono preamplifier.
Adikt uses a rigid body and a replaceable Gyger II stylus. This combination supports detailed and dynamic playback.
The replaceable stylus also makes long-term ownership more practical. Once the stylus reaches the end of its service life, it can be replaced without changing the entire cartridge.
Koil is fitted as standard to the Majik LP12 MC.
It provides the first step into Linn’s range of premium moving-coil cartridges. Linn positions it above Adikt in performance.
Koil uses a nude Microlinear stylus and a low-mass boron cantilever. This construction allows the cartridge to follow fine groove information with greater precision.
Its moving-coil design produces a lower output than Adikt. Therefore, Koil requires a compatible moving-coil phono preamplifier.
The Solid Base provides a rigid lower platform for the Majik LP12.
Linn manufactures it from aluminium and fixes it directly to the turntable’s wooden plinth. Its fixed feet support installation on a solid surface or a shelf that already provides suitable isolation.
The Solid Base gives the Majik LP12 a stable foundation while maintaining a simple and direct mechanical design.
The LP12 plinth provides both structural support and visual character.
Linn makes its standard plinths from kiln-dried hardwood. Buyers can choose either the clean appearance of the smooth plinth or the classic fluted design inspired by early Sondek LP12 models.
Five standard wood finishes are available. Linn also offers high-gloss and special-finish options.
For a more personal design, the plinth can be matched to a chosen RAL colour. High-gloss, satin, and metallic treatments are available for custom finishes.
